Artisan Encompassed – Warranty Policy

Effective Date: Jan 1 2026
Jurisdiction: Canada

  1. Limited Warranty Coverage

Artisan Encompassed (“the Company”) warrants its fishing rods to the original retail purchaser (“the Customer”) to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, for the duration set out below, commencing on the original date of purchase.

  • Level 1: 1-Year Limited Warranty (under normal use by the original owner)
  • Level 2: 3-Year Limited Warranty (under normal use by the original owner)
  • Level 3: Lifetime Limited Warranty (for the life of the rod under normal use by the original owner)

This warranty applies only to rods purchased directly from Artisan Encompassed or from authorized dealers and is non-transferable. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

This warranty covers manufacturing and workmanship defects in the blank, guides, reel seat alignment, epoxy finishes, and wrapping work. Decorative wraps, thread art, and specialty finishes are covered for workmanship defects for a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase.

  1. Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:
a. Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, or improper storage;
b. Accidental damage, including but not limited to “high-sticking,” impact with objects, vehicle doors, or intentional breakage;
c. Normal wear and tear, including cosmetic damage, finish wear, or cork darkening;
d. Modifications or repairs performed by any party other than Artisan Encompassed;
e. Damage incurred during commercial or guide use, unless otherwise agreed in writing;
f. Damage occurring outside of Canada.

The Company reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether a defect falls under warranty coverage or constitutes damage outside the scope of this warranty.

  1. Paid Replacement Program

For damage not covered under this warranty—including but not limited to accidental, negligent, or intentional damage—the Company offers a Paid Replacement Program.

Under this program, the Customer may obtain a replacement rod of the same or comparable model by paying a replacement fee equal to the actual cost of components and labour to rebuild the rod at the time of the claim. This cost will vary depending on series, materials, and current component pricing.

The Paid Replacement Program ensures that replacement costs for non-warranty damage are borne by the Customer and not subsidized by the Company. All damaged rods must be returned for inspection before eligibility for the Paid Replacement Program is determined.

  1. Warranty Claim Procedure

To make a warranty claim, the Customer must:
a. Contact Artisan Encompassed by email at stephanie@artisanencompassed.ca to request a Return Authorization Number (RAN);
b. Provide proof of purchase and clear photographs of the defect or damage;
c. Ship the rod securely, with the RAN clearly marked, to the Company’s address for inspection.

The Customer is responsible for shipping the rod to Artisan Encompassed. If the claim is approved under the warranty, the Company will cover the cost of return shipping to the Customer.

Upon receipt and inspection, the Company will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the defective product with the same or an equivalent model. If the original model is no longer available, the Company reserves the right to substitute a comparable product.

  1. Limitations of Liability

This warranty is the sole and exclusive warranty provided by Artisan Encompassed. To the fullest extent permitted by law, all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are hereby disclaimed.

The Company’s liability is limited to the repair or replacement of defective products under this warranty. The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of use, loss of profits, or inconvenience, arising from the use or inability to use the product, whether based on contract, tort, or otherwise.

  1. Consumer Rights

This warranty provides specific legal rights to the Customer. The Customer may also have additional rights under applicable Canadian consumer protection laws, which vary by province or territory. Nothing in this warranty is intended to limit, modify, or exclude any statutory rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

  1. Governing Law

This warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
